C.O. Bigelow Canned Foam

Since B&B is out of Proraso I've been tempted to try the Bigelow canned foam. There doesn't seem to be any reviews posted here.

What has been your experience with it? I think 10 bucks is a little much for canned stuff but I was wondering if it was worth at least half that price? I mean, does it perform any better than a can of edge I can find at the grocery store for 2 or 3 bucks?

I'd hold out for the Bigelow in the tube unless you have no other option. Having said that, a few folks have reported that as far as canned shaving creams go, it doesn't totally suck.

Is the canned Bigelow foam the same as canned Proraso foam? If so, I'd say it's pretty good for canned stuff.

I bought a can of the Proraso foam along with the Feather blades I ordered from West Coast Shaving because it was on clearance and I was curious, not having used anything from a can in at least eight months. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it does an adequate job. By adequate, I mean that the razor seems to glide and cut just fine and I haven't nicked myself once. The foam definitely has the same great "face-freeze" effect as the cream and it smells just as wonderful.

However, I won't rush to replace the can when it runs out because the cream and a brush makes a thicker, slicker lather that gives me a better shave. As always, YMMV.

10 bucks? for canned? I will pass. face lathering is just as quick IMO.

You can get a can of Proraso at Westcoast shaving. I think it's definitely better than other canned foam like Gillette or Barbasol.

Gillette Menthol Foam is $1.50 at Walmart I think. I use it from time to time and it does give you that freeze effect as well.

For $10 you can get a nice tube or tub of Proraso online...better yet for about $6 you can get a tube or tub of Omega which is made by Proraso and is pretty much the same product.

I tried the foam a few weeks ago. It's much thinner in density than the cream. The eucalyptus oil and menthol is not as strong as the cream. The foam does not offer as much glide and slickness as the cream. Very dry. I returned the crap for a refund.
