First time using this cream (Gillette Slim +Rapira)

Initial thoughts:
Out of the tub - thicker consistency almost sticky.
Using a Muehle Retro SP2 brush. Good lather "ability. Tip of the brush in the tub, created a good full lather with plenty to spare after three passes.
Good volume of lather. Not the stiff peaks on the brush (probably a function of the water ratio - to be determined).
Good lubricity - quality components.

I am very fond of "sandalwood" and always looking for new variations (TOBS, AoS, T&H, C&B). So C&F...
The scent remains a bit of a mystery. Certainly not the strong, "old school" smell of TOBS. Almost a hint of burned almond.Spicy? Not getting the sense of Sandalwood leading the pack in the fragrance.
According to SWMBO..no trace...we shall see how this develops during the day. I am cognizant that lingering scent also has to be do with the body chemistry combination.

200ml tub = $38. Middle of the pack in terms of economics/price.

Verdict: TBD.
Good quality cream but seems to be lacking in terms of the fragrance component(which seems to contradict ..
Not a "wow" factor for the moment.

This is my favorite of the CF offerings. It's scent is cedarwood heavy for sure, which I prefer. You are correct, at least to my nose, regarding the minimal sandalwood scent. That being said, the scent is authentic, not like an AoS sandalwood cream. CF CW/SW does not smell synthetic- it smells like wood.

The initial price tag seems heavy, like MdC, but so little product is needed, I think it does a good job in the "value" category in regards to amount necessary for a shave. But value is entirely subjective, so YMMV.

Enjoy that cream- it is a solid performer.

I just received a tub of this for my birthday. At first, I was very disappointed in the scent. It is fairly dry and reminds me of a cedar chest. However, it seems to have opened up since I have opened the container several times, and now I can't stop sniffing it. What started as my least favorite scented cream is now moving to the top of the pack.

In terms of the shaving quality, I think this is as good or better than any high end cream including T&H or ADP. After shaving with this (I use the balm as well), my face feels exceptionally soft and smooth.

My one big caveat, though: If you are looking for a traditional English style sandalwood scent, look elsewhere.
