Burts Bees Shave Cream - My Discovery

Today I found the secret of improving the performance of Burt's Bees shaving cream.
Instead of using the same amount as I would have any other cream, I used five times the amount.

The results speaks for themselves.
1. Instead of getting an awful shave, I got a fairly sub average one.
2. Instead of having half a dozen nicks, I only had one.
3. After applying the alum block, instead of having my whole face aflame with stings, only my throat area was aflame.

All up, a very considerable improvement.

I know different creams require different amounts to achieve the same lather but I would find five times as much would make most creams expensive to use. However, I am glad you are able to use the Burt's Bees cream you already have somehow and get an acceptable shave. Many have complained about its lackluster lather on here over the years, I am actually surprised they haven't reformulated and are able to sell their product profitably.

I think Burt's Bees makes a fine cream. I used it Thursday morning for the first time this year and will probably be enjoying it more and more as the weather gets hotter.

It doesn't produce a lot of lather because its not supposed to. I've tried it for bowl lathering, face lathering, palm lathering, and it works in all of these modes ... but it seems to work best for me when I put it on brushless. Plenty of slickness and cushion and it always delivers a great shave.

I especially like reading the list of ingredients. Its written in plain English, not some gobble-dee-gook that would only make sense to a chemist.

When I use it, I just use a normal amount. It comes out of the tube in a rather thin line, so I squirt about 2 inches which amounts to a total volume of a little less than one snurdle.

I didn't actually say I got an acceptable shave. I was using a small tube of the cream I got from a small Burt's Bees travel pack (it had soap, aftershave and shower gel in it as well). I have enough left for one and a half more shaves using the 5X quantity. But I may splurge and use it all up in one final shave, out of idle curiosity.

Yours appears to be a unique experience. Has it perhaps been reformulated recently?
