Burts Bees latherless cream as a pre-shave

So a while ago I picked up a tube of the Burts Bees shaving cream, and found out later that it was latherless. It worked o.k. with a straight, and clogged up my DE, so I never really gave it another go.

Lately I've been using glycerin as a pre-shave, and getting good results. Today I saw the BB cream sitting there and decided to try it as a pre-shave.

It is really amazing in this capacity. I started with a hot wash cloth to soak my beard. Followed it with the BB cream. Stropped my razor. Lathered with KMF.

I may get some use out of this stuff after all.

I wonder if it truly works better than any other "lotion like substance" you could put on your face as a pre-shave though.

I myself have had really good results with Hair Conditioner as a pre-shave. I have also used canned Barbasol as a pre-shave, but that is more messy.

I used to use hair conditioner, and it works well to be sure. I can't say if it works better than other "lotions," but since I have it sitting around, and I didn't think I'd ever use it, I feel pretty good about the discovery.

For a long time I would lather up, strop, rinse off the lather, dry my face and lather again for the shave. The Burts Bees seems to work as well, with a little less work.
