Bump Patrol

Hey everyone,

I was in Wal-Mart today and was looking at the shave supplies. I am always looking for anything new on the shelves. Anyway, I was looking at the Bump Patrol products and discovered they are offering a "cool shave brush" now with their Bump Patrol A/S. I really like the A/S because its great on any razor burn I might get, prevents bumps, and is a really good moisturizing A/S. Their shave gel in a tube recommends using a brush and I thought it was great they are offering a brush now. I am really glad to see someone else besides VDH is offering a brush in local stores. If you haven't tried their aftershave or shave gel you should give it a whirl since they are inexpensive and great products.

I'll have to check it out. I am pretty new to DE shaving, about a month now. And I am having problems with bumps. Also some ingrown hairs. Very surprising that all this stuff comes to the surface once I started DE shaving. Mind you my skin is looking much better in the long run. I figure once the ingrown hairs are dealt with and a couple of other blemishes I'll be good to go. So I figure about another month or so and things should start to look up. I can't believe how much #$@@#$ my electric razor covered up with bad shaves. :D

Huh, wonder how good a brush they offer. I considered buying a bump patrol handle so I could use trac II blades for traveling, but never did

The bump patrol handle work great for the TracII, pick one up, you'll love it. I have a tube of their shave gel, but haven't tried it yet. I'd like to see what kind of brush they have too!

have to bookmark this thread, I have noticed their brush as well, they only carry that one and the VDH starter kit that includes a brush. Just curious, I could use a new one and haven't taken the plunge yet.

Has the brand name changed? The handle I have here was called a "Bump Fighter", and is far superior to the Gillette varieties of handles offered for tracII's, but doesn't bring the shave quality up to the Sensor's (two blade version) level.

Bump Patrol and Bump Fighter are 2 different brands. Bump Fighter is part of Personna as I recall. Bump Patrol is a barber and dermatologist from Georgia who developed a shave system to prevent bumps and make a great aftershave.

The bump patrol brush I bought in that same little kit fell apart, hair fell out in chunks etc. The VDH brush I have still is going strong after lasting much longer.

The shave gel is crap. The AS isn't really much of a aftershave, it's more like putting witch hazel or something like that (to me, anyway). However, it does help with razor burn. Then again, per the boards the most important part of a shave is the prep and the direction you shave. I was told to always go WTG on the first pass, and once I mapped out my face (and realized I have a Mason-Dixie line that makes me shave from the base of my neck to the Adam's Apple WTG) I pretty much stopped getting any burn.

That first month though, DAMN. From the Adam's apple on down looked like Jason Voorhees had tried to give me a shave. Even Bump Patrol could only help a little.

It appears that there *IS* no such thing as any other handle besides Bump Fighter. Right now, M&M's web site advertises varieties of shave lotion ONLY.
