Budget shave soap recommendation

I have only used Creamo before I owned a brush and Pinaud Clubman (with a brush)
I have learned to get a good lather with Pinaud but it isn't slick.
Is there a soap or cream you recommend that is slick and lathers?
One that is the benchmark for a beginner to start with?

Proraso bowl or tube
These are inexpensive and work well for me.
Then of course there are plenty of artisan soaps out there you can try or if available buy some samples.

Haslinger Schafmilch if you just want a really good performing soap with a mild scent. I think some artisans can be nicer, but it is hard to find inexpensive artisans that outperform that soap.

These are sold out at the moment and go on sale frequently when they are in stock.
Currently I'm working on a La Toja Stick smashed into a puck. Great soap, hard soap that lasts a long time.

The best inexpensive soaps I’ve tried are La Toja stick pressed into bowl, RazorRock blue barbershop, and tabac stick pressed into bowl.

Creams that are pretty good are La Toja, Lea, Palmolive, and Prorasso.

Arko is great and cheap. Mitchell's Wool Fat lasts a long time making it a very good value.
