Alright ladies and gentlemen,
I was sitting here thinking about a razor...one that was just an absolute mess. I tried my best to bring it back to life but through trial and error just made matters worse. She's been stripped and cracked and her poor little brass is showing right out from under her plating. A fine mess. But I have not given up hope on her. When I found her she was covered from head to handle in some serious grunge. I had done well to bring back some of her color prior to making an epic failure of a decision to hydrogen peroxide/vinegar her. Yes Yes, live and learn. It was stupid but getting to the point.
I was thinking of a thread where people take some seriously messed up razors. Functional, but as they say here in the south "A HOT MESS". They show before and after pictures of said razor. The worse they look from the beginning the better, and turn them into beauty queens. Then detail the method used for fixing her up and displaying her as your trophy model. This sounds like a lot of fun to me as you start off with something you wouldn't even want to look at, to something you want to display with pride for all here to see. If this topic has already been circulated as I'm sure it has feel free to mod it out of existence and direct us to said thread because this just sounds like a lot of fun to me.
I think the only real rules that should be observed is that you keep the original parts on the razor, no modding it cause that wouldn't really be an accurate representation of fixing it up with what it has. If you do this professionally it really wouldn't be DIY and shouldn't be used as a basis of comparison amongst us amateurs, plus the idea isn't to turn this into a vendor service thread but just homegrown fun for the rest of us. So ladies and gents what do you think? I'm not really thinking a contest so to speak though anyone is welcome to give they're opinion on any razor eye candy displayed and judge it accordingly. Plus the only prize is the trophy razor you poured your own blood sweat and tears in.
