Brutal Classic - Poland

Despite its name, it's a quality shaving cream. Rich, thick lather, nice cushion and glide. Strong masculine scent, similar to Brut.

Well, for me name „Brutal” for shaving cream is also funny. „Brutal” line of cosmetics was introduced into the market in 1977. It was also called „liquid testosterone” or „smell of real men”. Everything was different. Ideal man was strong and masculine. Maybe sometimes little bit brutal? Do you remember these years?

Now we have got of unisex men, smelling unisex perfumes, wearing skinny-type trousers. Is it worse? Not necessarily. Just different.

To our point, in my opinion, La Rive Brutal is the best shaving cream available in Polish shops. It is very, very cheap, as you can get it for 0,7 USD. Once again, good shaving cream in cardboard box for 0,7 USD is a steal even in Poland. Same price has cheapest McDonnald’s sandwich.

Ingredients list is not ascetic, but quite acceptable: Aqua, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Coconut Oil Fatty Acid, Parfum, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Metasilicate, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Citral, Coumarin, Eugenol, Isoeugenol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Salicylate (INCI).

Brutal cream lathers really fast and produces dense, creamy, velvety lather. Shave performance is very good – both glide and cushioning is definitely rock solid. Post shave for me is average.

My scores are:
- scent 6/10,
- lather: 10/10,
- shaving performance: 8/10,
- post shave: 6/10,
what makes 7/10 overall – better then many even quite expensive products.

@Mirx, I like and respect your review very much. I'm familiar with just a few Polish creams such as Wars, Lider Classic, and Kanion Classic. My favorite of these three is Wars.
