What's new

Brut Revolution

I know I'm digging up OLD ground here but....

In my constant search for different and affordable colognes, I stop in most any store I think might have cologne or aftershave. I was out with with SWMBO and there was a Dollar General in this strip mall that I hadn't visited before. I swing through just to see if they had anything different. They had the standard, knockoffs, barbasols, etc. I was getting ready to leave and I see this small lonely box that said Brut Revolution. This was something new to me, but I wavered on buying it as it had no price tag. SWMBO, instructed me to 'Just get it, it's Brut... How expensive could it be???' Well, as usual she was right. $1.50 + tax and I was out the door with a 1oz bottle.

I really like this cologne (as does my wife). I mean, it's very vague blue/oceanic scent, but pleasant nevertheless. I'm always on the lookout for things I can wear to work. I did some Googling and found that it had been discountinued (hence the $1.50 pricetag). There are a few places online that have it, so I may spring for a few of the full size bottles.

Anyone else like or use this cologne?

Awhile back the aftershave was at Dollar Tree. I stocked up! Then I found the cologne at DG and bought 2 bottles. I like it. It's light and inoffensive. I know it isn't popular here though.

Yeah, during Googling, I got a hit for the aftershave at Dollar Tree online. I tried to buy them then, but apparently it was already out of stock. I've been in several Dollar Generals, but this was the only one that had the Brut Revolution. If I had to guess, I'd say when they were cleaning up the stock room, the found a bottle or two leftover and slapped it on the shelf to get rid of it.

It's not a Creed or anything fancy like that, but it works really well for me as a everyday type of thing. I don't like the idea of wasting my 'good' cologne at work.

There's about 7 left at one of my local drugstores. I thought I saw a few that said were colognes, and the others were Aftershaves?? I might just pick the AS depending on the ingredient list. If the ingredients aren't up to par with other Aftershaves, then I'll grab the cologne.

PM me if you'd like a bottle or two of the a/s. We can do a trade or something.

FWIW, I too had used and enjoyed the Brut Revolution, but couldn't find it anywhere anymore. On a lark, when I was in WalMart I picked up a cologne called "Eau de G" ($8.00 for around 100 ml). It was supposed to be a knockoff of Aqua di Gio. It's a dead ringer for Brut Revolution, at least to my nose (insert appropriate YMMV disclaimer here). Just as cheap as the original, and it's widely available as well - at least while WalMart keeps it in stock...

For what's it's worth, the Brut Attitude Aftershave sold in a blue glass bottle at Wal-Mart is to my nose the same scent as Brut Revolution. Neither product really wowed me enough to buy it again though. :tongue_sm

Hmm. I may have to check these out. I have a Aqua Di Gio knockoff, but it's made by a different company than the Walmart version. It doesn't really smell the same as the Brut.

I've been looking sporadically for the Brut Attitude, but for some reason my local Walmart doesn't carry it. I have plenty of Walgreens, Rite-Aids, CVS type stores, so I'm sure I'll find it at some point.
