I was at the store the other day and sniffed some Pinaud Bay Rum as and was reminded of Brut. Is it just me or is Brut's fragrance a form of bay rum scent?

I wouldnt call brut bay rum - but I know what you mean. Theres the same kinda spicyness
Old Spice is way closer to bay rum than Brut. Brut is a classic fougere.
Clubman by Pinaud is similar to Brut, but neither are like bay rum.

hehehe. You can still wear brut. Lots of people are surprised and delighted to smell it again. They dont remember it and think what youre wearing is nice (until they hear what it is)
I actually agree that it smells ok. It does seem to suffer from its Stereotype, which I have dutifully perpetuated above.
I think the secret to wearing any scent is wearing it correctly. I think many colognes and aftershaves like Brut have a bad rap because we remember other guys bathing in them. My brother used to bathe in Brut, so I kind of have that association with it. But most drugstore brands are actually pretty good if you wear them properly.
