Brush Restore Question

I have an EverReady C40 handle that is ready to put in a new head. I was looking on TGN. I was looking at either a 20 mm Grade A Silvertip or a 20 mm Super Badger Hair Fan. Any good recommendations as between the two?

Thanks

See my wiki in my sig for some info that might be useful to you.

If this is your first, perhaps consider a Finest in 20mm. It's the best bang for buck knot that Tony has. Nice soft tips and still quite a good backbone.

Of the two you mentioned and the Finest you can't go wrong whichever you choose.

Don't forget a lot of the feel of the brush will also depend on the final loft you set the knot at.

Thanks, Fidjit for the information. I probably should have put additional information. This is my first restore, but not my first brush. I currently have a custom Shavemac 23mm Silvertip and a Vulfix Silvertip Fan. I haven't decided if I will keep this restoration or give it to my father who is currently using an AoS brush...

Sorry I should have been clearer too......:biggrin1: meant your first restore. If it were me I'd go the Finest since it's your first restore. Not as expensive so if something does go horrible wrong ( not that it will............ )

As I say you won't be disappointed in any of the three mentioned.

I do think the finest is the best middle of the road brush. I prefer the fan a little bit to the bulb, but both are nice. Both the super and grade A are nice softer brushes. I find the grade A a bit better.

The best "Density" brush they currently have is imho the silvertip short loft, but it's only available in 24mm.
