Brush Pics... Don't look it will ignite SBAD

OH MY, oh my.........

Received the Harvard H4 yesterday and immediately whipped up a lather with Gent's Best SS for a inaugural shave.

This brush is a bowl lather MONSTER. Gobs of lather and so soft on the face... and Even a Fan Shape.... thought I was in Heaven.

Today was a trial of Da Fat.... I have never used this soap and I ordered it with the brush.... so today was let's see what all this talk about how hard Da Fat can be to lather.

Well I don't know if it was just me or this brush...but it was stupid simple....

Hey Isaac...you going to up this way at Xmas... need to think of a Meet up if so

I dont think so, but im still hoping. If the Yankees make it to the show ( i know you hate them ) i should be going up for a day or two.

Dont worry, youll always be on my NYC radar :)

Quick Request: Where are you guys getting these things? I did a quick survey and couldn't find anything outside of Simpsons official site.

shoeboxshaveshop.com along with diamondedgeltd.com also carry a good selection of the Harvards.

I look forward to seeing more Harvard pictures. Maybe if I get lucky someday I'll see one of all 6 together to help in the purchasing decision. :thumbup1:

Fantastic brush indeed! And it confirms what most B&B members (me included) say: Simpson brushes in Best hair grade are superb!

"Got Shoes?"
I mean seriously...

The sheer bravado and hubris exhibited by this brush is... well, it's just shocking. It's a brute.

Harvard my a**. There is nothing collegiate about this brush. This brush is not wearing a letterman's sweater and looking forward to homecoming in Cambridge.

Instead of naming it The Harvard, Simpson should have named it The Harvey.

It's clad in a black leather jacket with its collar turned up working the docks of Port Newark

It's Brando in On The Waterfront. It's Mitchum in Thunder Road.

The Eagle is unassuming. It's workman-like. It's an every-man brush. It's Gary Cooper in Sgt. York. It's Gregory Peck in The Big Country. When provoked it by a triple-milled soap, it is liable to strike. It will pounce out of its sheer will to persevere. Just like an Eagle. You respect it.

The analogy of the H4 being a PJ on steroids is spot on. The PJ is genteel with its slender, elegant lines. Fred Astaire, perhaps. Definitely not Fred Mirtz.

In comparison, the barrel-chested H4 is just a force to be reckoned with. I put it on the shelf next to the Polo and the Polo slunks. The Emperor doesn't want any part of him, yet it can't look away.

The Chubby 1, the 56, the Tulip 2 stare in wonderment but when the H4 looks up.. they quickly look away. The Astor, in its Limited capacity, has the good sense to step aside as it recognizes a can of whup-a** when it sees it.

This is a serious brush. Can it destroy a puck of soap like the Eagle? Honestly Gents, which brush can?

The Eagle is Mike Tyson and a puck of soap is Michael Spinks.

But can Harvey whip up meringue-like peaks of lather from a snurdle of cream just by looking at it. I think so. Can it wear down a puck of soap like going fifteen rounds with Rocky Marciano? No doubt.

(Btw, this write-up was just from looking at it. I haven't even used it yet. )

Seriously, I am impressed by this brush. I gave it a once-over on a puck of MWF (actually 3x) and then a puck of T&H Luxury soap and let it sit in that lather for about 45 minutes to help with the de-funkification.

First shave with it later today. :thumbup1:

When I look at this brush, I just think... the audacity.

How do you follow that post?????? :001_huh:

Anyway, I've been using it this week, and it made C&S and MWF beg for mercy like the street tough that it is. I also bowl lathered Musgo Real this morning, and it did a very nice job. It was better at bowl lathering the soaps, though.

...

now that is an incredibly deep question... you did follow that post, didn't you? so... oh! You're just looking to suck me into an off-topic conversation to get my *ss busted.

hunh.

clever....

I almost fell for that one - but I'm NOT going to fall for buying another super-brush. I'm not.

nope.

[contrary to the expected end line here - there is NOT one of those monsters on the way to me.]

But what a cool brush.... Congratulations to all you SBAD boys.
