What's new

British Populars

I picked this up on dbay -
proxy.php

I gather from Mr-Razor's site (and various info from the B&B) that this is a British Popular from the 1930s. (And I believe it was available in silver & black[!] as well as gold.)

I'm not having much luck searching B&B for this one (searching on "popular" is not really productive...).

Is there any more info available? Production dates, perhaps? Was the razor high-end? Expensive? A junior Aristocrat? Is it considered an Aristocrat? Did it have a model number? [And now having asked all that, I'll take a look at Mr-Razor's advts....]

thanks for any inormation.

Interesting razor bythbook. These open combs TTO's are way cool.

I would very muck like to see the black version :w00t:

Hey, Jakob -

see:

full

found in this thread:
http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=78381

and in that thread, a participant referred to these as 1930s Brit Aristocrats....

and I see that Achim cites these as Populars, not Aristos - and shows a #47 set. I wonder what set the bakelite case would be...?

Hi Jon, I think you'll find the advertisement on Achim's site, showing the various Aristocrat sets, including the two Popular sets.
