That's interesting... I've got one of those sets, as well. It was a promotional gift item from the Motor Products Corporation of Detroit to the Chief Engineer of the Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company. Perhaps related, perhaps not -- a giveaway item can also be referred to as a "premium."

You've got a Christmas one, or a engraved set? Can you share a picture
If it ends in Y it is from England
The Tuckaway lid is engraved Dr.Noble D.M.McCormack serial number 363649B. That last picture has another Xmas gift item from Gillette, its a leather wallet given to a A.C. Lemey dated 1942.
If your going to use it, you can use a steel plaque remover pick to go in between the teeth to get that green gunk out.

Which would be the case as this is the second recorded 'Holder' Made in England, case Made in USA set.
It's the same style set, but doesn't have "Christmas" message on the headliner. Instead, the head of the razor is engraved with "Compliments of Motor Products Corp. Detroit, Mich." and the case is personalized to Charles L. Sheppy.
