Breaking in a Boar

So, I've decided to give my Omega boar another chance. I'd only used it about 7 times before I had given up on it.

How long does it take to break in a boar brush? What can I do to expedite the process?

It took mine a good two months to get to broken in. I also swirled my brush on a towel counter clockwise to aid in drying and it seemed to soften the tips.

My Omega was broken in in about two weeks, but I shave every day. I also shampoo'ed it several times in the first two days to get the "funk" out of it.

I love it now.

I had to shampoo the bejesus out of my Omega boar when I first received it. I'm pretty sure that helped break mine in.

I like napoleon's advice. Shampoo/blow dry multiple times. It seemed to work for me.

I would agree that the breaking in is becoming noticable by that time but I think that it still will improve a lot from there; my softest boar (by now) was very much softer after 6 months than it was after just one.

Abuse the hell out of it :letterk1:

Bad boar brush, bad! :a53:

The only way, really...

yep took me a bit to break in my 1098 professional boar by omega because i rotate mine, but it is a really nice brush and feels oooo so silky smooth
