Could no longer resist and mailed the captain an international request to sail that copper bowl filled with samples to the other side of the pond.
It reminds me of (dark) hand hammered cymbals.

That's pretty much my reaction to everything I've purchased from the Captain!We spent six months with prototypes getting our two original bowls just right. Customers have loved them ever since.
I will say that I have done some test marketing of sorts with probably a dozen people on Obsidian. First they opened a box with our Heavyweight copper bowl. They handled it and commented about how remarkable it is to hold a handcrafted item like that. Then I handed them a second box with the Obsidian copper bowl in it. To a person they had similar responses: “OH!!” and “WOW!!” were most common with raised eyebrows. They would go on to remark about how classy it looks, etc.
I've got one. It works great. Nice big opening for filling and emptying.We probably also need a captains brush scuttle….
