I like the button the best. It really pops
My CC copper bowl sure isn't lacquered. Its patina is ever changing and becoming ever richer with touches of verdigris --not something I'd expect were it lacquered. If this bowl is unlaquered, I would consider it for sure! Your existing copper bowls having a laquer is the only reason I haven't bought one. I'd rather have raw copper, no laquer, but the forced patina, unlaquered on this one would be okay.
Both the standard and the heavyweight state on the Captain's Choice website 'coated in a protective lacquer'. Perhaps that wasn't always the case?My CC copper bowl sure isn't lacquered. I cannot say. FWIW, I bought my bowl earlier this year without paying much attention to whether it was lacquered of not. All I know is that it is aging well and looking good. Both the standard and the heavyweight state on the Captain's Choice website 'coated in a protective lacquer'. Perhaps that wasn't always the case?

Do yourself a favor and email the captain. He's always forthcoming and helpful. You might end up with one of his copper bowls yet.
Maybe get it some bowl-tox and lots of plastic surgery? That explains it! Thanks for chiming in, Cap'n.
So, if I wanted a copper bowl that aged ungracefully...?
I'm 99.9% certain that you are right my friend.I think it is called liver of sulfur.
Were we classmates in 7th grade Art?!?The color reminds me of a project I did in school with copper. I used a chemical to change the color, but I can't remember the name. However, I'll never forget the rotten egg smell. Great stuff, must have been some type of sulfur.
(Couldn't resist the sad face friend!)Its a very nice looking shave bowl.!
I mean, "Fred?"Were we classmates in 7th grade Art?!?
Possibly, you got the right grade level and class. Were we classmates in 7th grade Art?!?
Not that the new bowl looks bad, but I prefer the looks of your other copper bowls. However I must say that I love the looks of my Abaco Seaworthy Lather Bowl over any of the copper bowls.
That is always a possibility. If I do break it then a copper bowl might be in my future! The durability of the copper bowls is a big advantage. The glaze is beautiful on that one. I'd be afraid to drop it!
I can tell you the copper bowls make a nice ringing sound when they fall to the tile floor. That is always a possibility. If I do break it then a copper bowl might be in my future! The durability of the copper bowls is a big advantage.
