What's new

Bowtech anyone?

After this season, I have the itch for a new bow. After a lot of research, I believe I'm heading in the direction for a new Bowtech. Anyone have any experience with the Insanity or Invasion? I really like the Insanity, but not too sure about the 6 inch brace height. They Invasion has a 7 inch height but you lose 11 fps. I also considered the CPXL which has a 7 inch brace height, but at 35 inches axle to axle. My current Mathews is 6.5 inches at 35 inches axle to axle. I am going shorter for my next bow so that kind of ruled out the CPXL. I guess losing a half an inch of the brace height doesn't make a whole lot of difference. Just curious if anyone had shot these and their take.

I work in an archery shop and have shot all of them. The Insanity vs the Invasion I give it to the Insanity. Smoother draw cycle, faster speeds and still very shootable. We were shooting my bosses out too 100 yards with no problems. I personally like a longer ATA bow so I went with the Insanity CPXL. The short brace on the CPX is really made up for with the reflex/deflex riser and having the limb pivot located behind the grip. It makes for a smooth, accurate and easy to shoot bow.

Living in Hoyt's backyard but looking to the Darkside? Don't worry I won't tell

Thanks for the input! I'm taking a trip to the nearest dealer soon to try one out. My current bow is a Mathews LX and it is very smooth and gets the job done. Since I'm now hunting in the backcountry, I really need to have a backup or my season is toast if something happens. Just a good time to upgrade for me and keep the 7 year old LX as my backup. I get into some pretty thick timber and it seems like every year I find myself whishing for something just a little shorter. I have a bunch of friends shooting Bowtech, but none with either the Insanity or Invasion. So far I haven't read any real negatives on them besides personal preference differences or something that could be solved with some simple tuning.

Yeah the base tune on the Insanity is very important, but as long as the cam timing, static timing, and cam lean are proper they shoot AWESOME. Those three things are important with any bow out there though, but on the insanity at Static you definitely want to be within the timing dots on the cam. They shoot no matter what but absolute best is withing the dots. $2012-07-09_21-05-09_785.jpg
That's at 30 yards with my CPXL.
