Bought a Golden 500 off EBay last week.

I don't see a hydromatic lever on it. Did they make some Goldens without it?

That's an early "J" type (Patent pending). According to Renaldo.us, the 500s had the Hydromagic lever.

Look at the cutout in the case; it's made for the longer true G500. The seller stuck a J in a 500 case.

+1 That is definitely not a Golden 500 Razor.

yes bob that is a golden 500 with the hydromagic lever on it, the lever just makes it easier to rinse the razor out after use, makes it easier to clean
