Bolos are the official neckwear of Arizona. But before I knew that I always liked them, but have not been brave enough to wear one. Does anyone here wear a bolo on occasion? And, where did you get your if you have one?

I wore one once. It actually looked good, but made me feel like a redneck.

They were wildly popular for about a year when I was in high school (about 1989) and then I never heard from them again....
Bolo Ties met Platform Shoes about that time, and they got married, retired, settled down and started a family.
You might have heard of their kids, Bananarama and Rubiks Cube.
I have worn one on occassion and I have a few. Living in AZ it isn't really a big deal. My favorite was purchased at an antique store for $15.00. Got it checked out at a Native American Jeweler who said it vintage Navajo silver jewelry with turquoise from the 'Kingman mine' and worth $150.00 plus minimum.
When you have an 18.5-19" neck bolo ties come in handy. If I buy shirts that really fit my neck they hang like drapes everywhere else. I can't really justify tailoring nor afford custom shirts.

I think they look great on some people. For me... not so much. The right hat and boots seems to make the bolo work. Like Willy Nelson or Late Bob Dylan look good in a bolo ties.

I have always liked them because my Great Grandfather wore one. I have never worn one because I simply couldn't pull of the look.
That was supposed to be later bob dylan, versus earlier bob dylan. I could have said recent bob dylan. I was typing on a mobile device that decided to guess what I wanted and thought for me.
I think they're great, and so does Chuck Norris. I've never actually worn one, but I imagine Chuck has probably strangled a fella or two with his.
