Bluebeard's Revenge Vanguard Synthetic Brush

Can't seem to post a new review in the reviews section so figured I'd post here. I've been using the men-u premier synthetic brush for the past two years and whilst looking at shaving supplies, bought this brush on a whim from the shaving-shack.com.

It's very light compared to the men-u and that's something I've missed. But it's softer than the men-u and I can generate lather more quickly using less water. I think it's taken me about a third of the time I spend with the men-u.

The biggest plus for me was the cost - it's half the cost of the men-u so it's ideal for anyone looking to start with a synthetic, or if you just want to give it a go.

I have one as well.

It has the same handle as one of the Vulfix pure badger brushes. It isn't very heavy but it has a nice shape and doesn't feel cheap.

I'll second your claim about its softness and ability to make lather in no time. It has a short loft and is a great face lather brush. It dries very quickly and I find it to be an ideal travel brush or for use when I'm in a rush. In rinses quickly and it just needs a flick before setting it aside.

Thanks for the post. I was wondering about this one. Just ordered the Omega Hi-Performance brush. I want to pull the trigger on the Bluebeard as well.

I wonder who makes the Bluebeard Revenge. The Men-U Premier was my newbie brush purchase before I learned about B&B. It's made by Omega and is a good brush, but it costs about twice as much as the equivalent Omega synthetic brush--way, way overpriced. I'll be interested in learning how it compares to the new Omega Hi-Performance brush. I now use a Muhle HJM black fibre brush ($25 delivered, Connaught), which is wonderful: soft tips but plenty dense, and generates luxurious lather with all of my 25+ soaps.
