Blades for Valet Auto-Strop....

I got a real cheap Valet Auto-Strop off of ebay with the original case, instructions (not in great shape), strop and a couple of blades in its holder. However, while the razor is in pretty good shape...the blades are not...the edge is pretty solidly rusty on both.

I don't know what kind of razors these use or where to get them or even if they still exist....perhaps regular SE razors will work, I have no idea...so I turn to you. What blades does this razor work and where might I get them...if I still can?

Yup I had seen those during research...I guess that means these blades don't really exist anymore.......glad to know he's a member.

Just amazon'd some GEM Personna SE's...will likely use those.

Well, they don't exist in new form. I don't know for sure but I have never heard of anyone making new blades for the Valet Auto strop. But you can always buy them on line at auction sites. If you do that, you will probably have better luck finding them as part of a set with a razor, but occasionally you may find the blades sold on their own.

While I was surfing around looking for Valet auto strop blades I ran across this article regarding the Auto Strop company and how the word "Valet" made it's way into their name. It is from an advertising journal that was published in 1921.

You can probably still find NOS on the bay. However, I'm not sure if they would be stainless steel. I'm guessing they would be carbon.
