Blades for a Feather AC

Hello,

I recen't obtained a Feather AC RG. I have seen some talk on here about different blades (other companies besides feather). Just wanted some input and direction to those blades. I am using the Feather Professionals now.

Thank you.

I used KAI titan Mild blades.
I found them smoother out of the box than the Feathers.
Give the feathers a shave or two to settle down and they're fine.

I've only used three brands. Kai (milds only), Feather (all versions), and Dorco.

I liked all of them but I think the Feathers give me the most comfort - especially after I 'break them in'. The Dorcos are cheapest but hard to get. The Kai price is comparable to the Feathers and, if you look around, you can get the Feathers cheaper (try Smallflower for a start).

If I was starting out, I would go with the Guard blades in either Kai or Feather. Some will say not to do that - they are more expensive - but they are quite mild and easy to use. However, having said that, I think the other Feather versions are quite acceptable, too.

Once you get the technique for using the Feathers down, they give a great shave. I find that for myself the regular Feather pro's seem the best. The Kai mild's are also very nice. Those are the only ones I've used in my straights, but I see no need to try others.

I mostly use feather super pro's and kai milds as these give me the best results. But as you can see others prefer guard blades or pro's or .... Only way to find out is to try them I'm afraid. For example Guard and light blades do not work at all for me. Thanks to Dan I recently got to try a dorco blade and I was really surprised about the shaves it gave me!

You should probably stay with the blades you have for the moment until you really get the hang of shaving with your RG, you should see the amount of shaves you get out of a blade get higher and higher and the shaves get better and better. Then try other blades and you should be able to evaluate them better.

I think the KAI "pink" Mild and the Feather Professional Super blades are both better than the regular Professional blades - but they are all good!
