Blade variability

I've only been DE shaving for about a year and a half so I still have much to learn. I'm wondering if any of you experts have had the same kind of blade variability (within the same brand) as I've experienced. I'm using wonderful blades (Gillete 7 o'clock sharp edge - yellow pack) and getting great results with them. But the length of usage I get out of each blade can vary considerably. One blade (only 1 in one and a half years) I had to discard immediately. And my most recent blade lasted 2 weeks. Usually it's one week. Have any of you more experienced guys had experience like this?

For me the longevity of any of my favourite blades hardly varies. And none of my favs really had a bad blade but maybe one in hundred is a bit less sharp.

Pretty amazing consistant for such a relative cheap item.

In a year of using predominantly Feathers, and now Bolzanos, but also Super Iridiums, I have yet to experience a dud blade. I toss mine after 3 shaves anyway.

You're using the best of the best blades.

I have noticed some variability; mostly an occasional dud. A top example from my experience is the Bic Chrome Platinum blades. Most of the blades are pretty sharp and smooth. One of them was so bad I tossed it after the first pass. The next one, though, was fine.
