Blade recommendation?

We'll I tried out a Lord safety razor and I got a sample pack with it. All the blades were made by Lord and soon I plan to get another sample pack from other sources so I can compare.

I was surprised by how different each blade was! I got 5 different types but even though they were from the same company, they all were different.

Out of them all, I liked the "Big Ben" variety, and I was wondering if you all could recommend me some blades to try out given the fact that I liked this particular blade.

+1 on what Kyle said. Try many brands, not just a few...That's teh only way you'll know the good, bad and ugly side of them and how they feel on your skin/face.

Feathers are nice but can be a problem for some beginners as they are very sharp but not as forgiving as the blades I've listed.

I was scared of Feathers for the first while...then I tried them. They're not that bad. Just be careful (as with any blade).

I agree with this comment. The first time I tried a Feather blade was when I was new to DE shaving five years ago - it was a bad experience. I picked up a new pack a couple weeks ago and they are my new go-to blade. I'd suggest going through your entire sample pack before trying a feather. Your technique will make the difference.

Try a few then go with the one that works best with your razor on your face. As your technique improves you will find that blades which didn't work for you will turn out to be pretty good.
