Blade question.

So, silly question, but I'm kind of a newbie so I was curious... I was reading online that if you have multiple razors, you should not leave the blades in the razor between shaves. So, what do you do with the blades? Do you dispose of them after one use? Is there a particular method of storing the blades separate from the razors? RAD has already set in for me, so I need some help. Anyone have any advice?

I use one razor at a time, till the blade is used up. However, if you switch razors before changing the blade, I would think that by taking the blade out, then completely drying both the razor and blade before putting the blade back in, will eliminate any problem. The problem you are trying to avoid is surface rust on both blade and razor.

I think you'll be fine if you do this. I am curious to read others' thoughts on this. Thanks for the cannolis.

I leave then in the razor until I switch blades. Never had rust issues and have softened water so a rinse gets them nice and clean. A good shake and I lay them down to dry out.

ill take out the blade and blow off the blade and razor then put the blade back in to dry, if i want to switch razor ill switch the blade when im ready to use the other razor.

I more I touch the blade, the more likely I am to cut myself. It's hard to resist, but I leave the blade in the razor once it's in there.

I only use a blade for 3 shaves, *maybe* 4, so I just leave them in the razor till they are ready to toss.

I've never noticed any issue with rust/oxidation on them from doing this. I have one razor I use once a week, so the blade is in it for basically 3 weeks time, only used on Fridays, and it acts no different just rinsing it well compared to pulling the blade and drying it carefully then re-loading it the next week (I've used both methods just to see).

I'm pretty sure the modern coatings used on the majority of the blades we get really negate the need for any special drying process.

I'm still rotating blades to test out how they work for me .. so I remove them ones done .. pat them dry and put them back in their wax paper wrapper.

I just leave them be. I know there are a lot of members who pull them out, dip them, blow dry, etc.

I have four razors in rotation and have never had a problem just letting them sit in the razor. Plus I don't have the time to fiddle in the morning.

I just leave them in the razor and use them when I want. I typically get 6 shaves per blade and have 3 razors in rotation though I may only use one for a week. I could get more than 6 shaves, but there are only 6 sides on a Die and that's how I keep track:001_rolle.

I sometimes have 10 or 12 razors loaded and ready to go at any given time. I just give the razor of the day a quick dip in some rubbing alcohol after each shave, and I've never had even the slightest trace of rust on a blade. Once I load a blade, it stays put until it gets dropped in the blade bank.

Imho, I take the blade out. less chance of a reaction between different metals in a sometimes acid environment After seeing the abuse and misuse and neglect of so many classics on e-prey, I'd rather play it safe than watch one of my shavers start to rot. It doesn't take but a second to do.
