blade question

Just started shaving with a DE. I have taken possesion of my fathers old 1960's Gillette Speed.

I shaved a few times with CVS/Personna blades and fell in love with DE shaving. I just got my first sample pack of blades and tried a Derby blade yesterday and today. The blade shaves as close as the Personnas no pulling or tugging, I havent even cut my self yet. My problem is when I'm done I feel sunburned. Not really irrritated but an overall burnt feeling. Again no cuts or scrapes. I did notice when looking at the blades that the sides were numbered. I had the 3/4 side up. Is not using the 1/2 side the issue or maybe my razor just doesnt like Derby's?

The numbering really isn't much to pay attention to. Some folks like to disassemble there razor after shaving for cleaning and want to place the blade into the razor the same way up as they started. I found Derby's so/so but you might have a pressure issue, try to go lighter and slower.
