Blade Differences

Once you've found a blade you really like, do you stick with that blade and buy others like it, or do you keep searching and exploring?

Reason being, I've now bought 7 completely different razors. Size and brand being the difference. I went ahead and had the razors re-honed by a straightrazordesigns to make sure I had a fresh razor to compare. I found that my TI 6/8 Le Grelot is my favorite, and got the most comfortable and close shave possible from it. I purchased a TI 6/8 C135 to see if it holds true to it's cousin.

So I guess it's a little too early to say that TI is my favorite brand. I just couldnt' help but ask if I'm proceeding in the right direction.

I haven't been straight shaving very long but I'm building up a collection of various types of blade. So far I've found that each one has good points and not so good points, for me. When I first started, I used a wedge as it felt very comfortable and I like the solid, heavy feel of it and still do but since then I've got some full hollows, half hollows, framebacks and some more wedges and near wedges. Variety is the spice of life.

I stick with the kind I like when I'm paying full price... But I generally buy ANYTHING at a good price. If I can find a fixable 10$ blade, I buy it... Worst comes to worst, it sells for 20. At best, I find a sweet shaver.

However, I'll only pay market/actual price for a razor I really want for myself.

Kind of where I am at, but a good price can also be $100.00 depending upon the blade for me....
