Black Pure Jumbo!

Anybody tried one of these yet? It is a 30mm Black Badger Knot.

After years of using a cheap Omega Boar Brush that I painted for her (the cheap Omega is shown below)

SWMBO has come to the realization that there are other options out there:cursing:

I would find it encouraging, except for the way that she came to this epiphany - she decided to annex one of my restores with a 24mm SilverTip from Whipped Dog that I am actually quite partial to. At the end of the day, if she wants the brush, I will happily oblige, but I did offer to get her an alternative with a more ladyesk handle than the black restored Ever-Ready that I set my knot in.

So, I will probably just order a handle and knot from Larry for her. I know the 24mm Silvertip is a safe bet (since that is the knot that she has taken from me), but was wondering if the 30mm black badger may suite her needs better. I have a smaller black badger knot for myself and find it really scritchy, but the 30mm may be softer? What do you think, is the 30mm Black an option?

I had a brush with a black badger knot, though it was not from whipped dog. I found the black badger to be far too abrasive. It had scritch to spare.

Any reason to think the large 30mm black badger will be less scritchy than one of the smaller 20mm knots? I feel like it is a stupid question, but in lieu of hearing from someone who has actually used the 30mm beast, I can only wonder...

Wow. Yeah a 30mm Finest would be a great knot. I really like the Finest from TGN, I may have to order one or two within the near future. Though it may be really tough to find a handle that can house that massive knot - at Whipped Dog you can buy the handle with the 30mm knot.

I ended up just replacing the 24mm from Whipped Dog and getting a new handle, so I think I am set. That 30mm Black Badger must go to a very niche market.
