had a reduced blade gap...so I man handled the razor and ended up rendering the dial useless...any suggestions

What do you mean by "useless"? Does the adjustment dial spin freely, not turn anymore, does it not click into place? Depending on what is wrong, you might be able to fix it or have to replace it.
Manhandled? What exactly did you do, so we can help
