Black and Yellow restore

I got the black/yellow brush handle from Jack-in-the-Green's emergency liquidation and he said he wanted to see the restores. Here is the original:

I actually prefer a matte finish and the black was very glossy, so I took some 1500 grit and then worked on it with Flitz. I think I sanded out one of the eyeballs! :biggrin1:

Filled the handle with epoxy to give some weight, TGN 18mm Finest Badger Hair (I think, I sort of lost track of what I was doing) at 45mm.

I just love black/[color] handles. Better then butterscotch! I wish I could have gotten that black/green one. But I got a black/red coming up which is gen-u-wine catalin.

Haven't used this yet, but I think it will work.

How about Black/Butterscotch? If you don't Mind fixing cracks, theres a Fuller (150 I think) that sells dirt cheap all the time on ebay. Black on top of butterscotch that screw together. The problem is the black is really crappy plastic and is always cracked. I actually replaced the black on one of mine with a green top from another brush. I have a second that I may try to keep the original top on, and restore.

Very nice restore btw. I don't think I have gotten a chance to use any of the handles I got from him yet. I went on a buying binge and have like 30 handles laying around waiting on knots, and there's just not enough knots I want to try.

edit: Actually I think the green brush I stole the top from to use with my Scotch Fuller might have been from him. I'll have to dig up his thread and check.

edit 2: In fact it was one of his. I'll have to make that thread.
