I have a Gillette Super Speed Black Handle that was made in 1984, the year I graduated from high school (I bought it to use in college). So, early 80s razor should be out there.
At that time, the construction of the Black Handle was a little flimsier than earlier ones, and the base plate had a rectangular indentation instead of the diamond.

If it makes you feel better in 2001 when I was 18 just before turning 19 I messed up my back skateboarding and now close to 20 years later I already feel like I'm in my 70s. Then all the medical problems and I might as well be in my 70s.
