Hi all,
I'm not a tea drinker, but thought I would pass this along for the tea drinkers in Southern California. A Bird Pick Tea & Herb shop recently opened in the Culver City Westfield mall (formerly Fox Hills Mall) which is across the street from where I work. My wife has really gotten into teas in the last couple of years and I sent her over there to check it out when she came for lunch recently. It got a thumbs up from her.
I just got back from picking up some herbal teas for her (I have a feeling that I will be getting these little shopping lists from her more often ). She likes this place because they have no minimum (as opposed to the "other" mall tea store), and it is family run. They only have 2 shops (Culver City and Pasadena) but are opening a third in Santa Monica. So, it's not a mega-corp yet
Like I said, I'm not a tea drinker (need more coffee!) so I can't speak to the quality. Mostly I thought some of you might find the info useful. I liked that they didn't try to sell me on anything, and that for a mall store, it's family owned.
Bird Pick link.
As far as prices, I paid:
$6.12 for 3 oz of Apple Verbena
$5.28 for 2 oz of Black Forest Fruit
$2.40 for 1 oz of Tranquili tea (hah, that made me laugh)
