BIGGER copper lather bowl - first pictures!

We had some interest in a larger size copper bowl, here is looking at you @LexLexington, @BigAlVista, @losing, @rcg. The bowl in front is a normal size copper bowl, the Standard. The six behind it are about 6" wide and 2 1/2" tall. We expect to have these in our store in a week or so. Keep an eye out there for them. No idea yet on pricing but they take longer and use more material so there is that. This is kind of a one-off experiment to get feedback and gauge interest. May stock them or may not, all depends.

These are a great solution for customers who use a larger brush, and for customers who head shave as well as face shave - more capacity for the shave is a good thing!

Awesome, Captain!

Does that also mean deeper?
Yes.

The bowl in front is 1 1/2" deep or so. The larger ones behind it are about 2 1/2" deep - that is a huge increase in volume and capacity.

If it helps, take a look at the round thumb rest. It is the same size on both sizes of lather bowls seen here. It looks much smaller on the six in the background but only because the bowls are that much larger.

Hope that helps.

Yes it does help.

Thank you.

I think I'd be interested. My Obsidian (same size as the standard copper) is good as far as volume for both head and face shaving together but I would like it a little deeper. I tend to be a little sloppy when whipping up a lather and lather spills over the lip. The extra circumference isn't probably necessary for me but I think I'd like the depth. And of course it would add another Captains Bowl to my collection:001_smile

@Captain Pre-Capsize ,

Any chance you'll be offering a three bowl set?
That had not crossed my mind, probably not but it is certainly something we could consider. The wrinkle would be the different prices they are all listed at. For instance we do have that here.

In this case all choices are the same price, not different prices based on scent. I don't believe that our platform makes that possible with differently priced items that are chosen.

I was thinking something along the lines of a gift set, like this. Or, maybe do it with a discount code?..."Buy any of our our standard sized, hand-made artisan metal shaving bowls with our new extra large "Copper Carrier", and receive a free Traveler!". Just apply coupon code"SEAFOAM"

Figured I'd make it easy for you ;)

I know that a promotion like that would definitely be of interest to me...

One question, is the new 6" bowl made from the standard guage copper or the heavyweight guage?

Tell me what you think - I have been mulling over a name that works with this much larger lather bowl. I want it to be on brand so-to-speak and capture the idea of it being much larger with greater volume.

Tell me what you think about:

Oceanic
How about "The Galleon" or the "French Galleon"

(From the World History Encyclopedia) Galleons dominated the seas in the second half of the 16th century, and with their lower superstructures, they were much more maneuverable and seaworthy than previous ship types.

The Spanish galleon (Spanish: galeón, nao, or navío) was a particularly large type of galleon used for both carrying cargo and as a warship armed with up to 60 cannons. Used from the mid-16th century until the early 19th century, Spanish Galleons had three or four masts which were square- and lateen-rigged, a distinctive beak at the prow, and a high sterncastle.

Spanish galleons were particularly adapted from the standard galleon design to increase their cargo capacity for when they transported the riches of the Americas to Europe.

For me i really like Oceanic, Kraken. Galleon is a good one as well but the other 2 it's hard for me to choose... hahaha...

Can i reserve one now? I've been so distracted lately i almost forgot i shaved yesterday, which means B&Bers will hook them all up before i remember to look for them on the site or here... hahaha...

Gentlemen, the time has arrived... introducing Oceanic!

Here is looking at @Jamolay, @losing, @BigAlVista, @rcg, @GTTony,

We have a limited number of them - six. When they are gone, well you know the rest. Our plan is to then collect feedback from customers on this larger version. We may well keep it identical or there could be a tweak here or there based on feedback. Longer term, if the demand is there we will keep them in our store.
