Bigelow Hardening

Hello-
Learning on this board, I now use CO Bigelow cream. I recently purchased a new tube and I'm noticing that it's getting more difficult to squeeze out of the tube and the cream is loosing its creamy texture out of the tube. I am always sure to close the cap as securely as it will go, but at the rate things are going, I won't be able to use the full tube (large) because it will be as hard as a brick. Should I do something to preserve the like-new softness?

I have some CO Bigelow cream that I bought probably 6 years ago. I bought a large number of tubes because they were blowing it out at the time at a Godfather price. I am on the last large tube and small tube. The large tube is starting to harden, but not that I can't get it out of the tube. Just press hard and it will evacuate so you can use it.

Like rivieraranch mentioned, it shouldn't be doing this unless you have some kind of pinhole or something in the tube that will let air in, thus drying it out. If this is true, you can just squeeze the rest of it in some kind of container with a good sealing lid.

One other small suggestion, while I'm here. I found that the creams I've dried out to work as croaps work amazingly well. If you find one that is near or past the good cream stage, leave it in a cabinet with the lid off for a week or so and it'll surprise you.

I have mine in a mug that has been drying in a mug for weeks, and I have a feeling the soap/cream will work just fine...this clearly does not work with all creams, but Proraso does work well in this regard.

Proraso has been known for making horrible tube caps. Usually the inner screw wears out and starts to tear and crack, causing the air to get in. I just ended up using an empty Mama Bear jar and putting the rest of the proraso in it.

I'm having the same problem with my tube. I've only had it a few months but it comes out like a white tootsie roll and wont mix completely. Very disappointing.

Huh-My Proraso tube (old formula) squeezed out about 3/4" long hard divot this morning before I got to the soft stuff. Only opened it a couple months ago.
