"Big Roc" off the 'Bay

I've been given a Big Roc razor as a present, and although it looks OK it shaves like a potato peeler!
Now I realize there may be a cogent reason for this, but I know it's not technique, lather or blade as I've been DE shaving for over a year now and never suffer the common probs such as burns, bumps or WHY.
What I'd like to know is does anyone out there in the ether have one of these Chinese torture tools, and if so, do they experience the same problems?

I've heard they're really awful, but the handle is what makes them interesting. I've seen those heavy handles attatched to all sorts of good heads, and they add a whole lot of weight, which greatly increases aggressiveness. They are worth it IMHO just for the handle.

I bought one of those as it was only $6 or something, and I was happy with the Flying Eagle I had purchased just previously, plus the stupid name added to the appeal.

The head-cap of the Big Roc is aluminum I think, but the base plate/guard head and neck are chromed plastic. I tossed it without trying it. Not recommended.

I have one. Shaved with it once and put it in a closet. But the heavy hadnle came to good use when i made my Frankenrazor with a Fatip Comb and a Lord l6 topplate.
