Big Ben Open Comb Saftey Razor

Hey guys! Found this in a vintage clothing store today along with some other goodies (See my I think my RAD got the better of me this month thread).

How old is the beauty?

It appears the teeth on one side are acctually shorter than the other? Intentional or just from damage? Got 1 wonky tooth but nothing too bad.

Just tried it with a couple of blades and tried to move the blade to reveal the teeth evenly but it appears the teeth are infact different lengths

I think the razor you have was designed with the two sides to allow for a mild/aggressive choice. Nice find. Your end tooth on one side is bent, but if it does not get in the way you could leave it alone. If you do want to straighten it, I have had some luck by very carefully using a jeweler's needle nosed pliers to grab an errant tooth with the ends of the pliers taped to prevent scratching.

Very nice looking razor.
If it were mine, I wouldn't try to bend the errant tooth back into place. Metal gets stressed when bent, you might be successful, or you might break the tooth off, no way to tell. Think of it as a distinguishing characteristic.

I had one a few years ago. They apear under various other names including Duplex but I don't remember the others. Mine had a hollow handle but some didn't. Mine was a smooth mild shave and really light. If mine had different teeth lenghs I didn't notice. Nice mild shaver. They came in a tiny little brown Bakelite box.
