Between shave moisturizer

Does anyone have a recommendation for between-shave lotions/moisturizers. I have been using cetaphil and don't care for it. I use proraso aftershave lotion immediately after my shave but I like to use something later on as well.

I use the Vaseline Men body & face lotion. It's non-comedogenic so you can use it on both your face and hands - it smells pretty dudely too.

Baxter of California Oil Free Moisturizer. No SPF, but absorbs very well and is not greasy. Good for Normal to Oily Skin, so if you are on the dry side, it may not be moisturizing enough. Pretty much unscented (very light scent). It works great for me to keep a tube in my desk at work and apply it every so often because almost as soon as you apply it, it is absorbed and doesn't look greasy one bit. The Baxter of California Super Shape SPF 15 Face Lotion is also good, but a little runnier and greasier than the Oil Free Moisturizier IMO. It takes a little more time to absorb and will look greasy for a few minutes, but it has SPF protection.

Jojoba oil is great. Its very moisturizing, alittle goes a long way and the oil (its actually a wax) is as close to hair and face oil as you can get. Non irritating, and unscented.

How do you actually apply it to make sure you don't over saturate the skin? You calculate drops and combine with some water or? Obviously I got a problem with oily stuff on my face if is not entirely absorbed inside.

I use lubriderm men's 3 in 1 lotion, its cheap and pretty big. Mine has a pump top which I find easier to use than a regular bottle. I use it on my whole body between shaves.

I apply a tiny squirt on my hand, and apply on the face. It is easy to dab with kleenex if you use too much. I also have used unrefined shea butter and coco butter. The jojoba goes on easier. Jojoba oil is the closest to face/hair oil. I have read that it doesnt clog pores and actually fools the skin into producing less oil. Obviously these are not scientific facts. YMMV. My wife works for Lush cosmetics and jojoba is touted as one of or maybe the best moisturizer.

I feel the same way about Cetaphil, even though my dermatologist recommended it. I feel like it leaves residue. I am having success with Thayers Witch Hazel. That seems to moisturize without clogging or drying.

I'm done with creams and Cetaphil, Eucerin and the like. I used to suffer the redness and soreness of oily dry skin until I started using quality WH and AS regularly.

I wash the face with soap only once daily, before the shave, and water twice thereafter. After work or before bed I'll use WH or AS again depending on mood. Redness/soreness is gone, period.

I wash the face with moisturizing soap only once a day, before bed; water only all other times. I don't use aftershave, but if the shaving soap doesn't provide adequate moisture after the shave, I use a dollar store vitamin E oil (soy and castor blend) that absorbs quickly into the skin.
