Better blade or better shaving?

As a real newbie, my technique gets better with almost every shave. That makes it hard for me to judge blades - am I shaving better, or is each blade I try better than the last? I started with Feather, which I have heard is very sharp. I got cut a lot, and had a pretty good burn. Then I went to Derby. Much smoother and a lot less burn. This morning I replaced the Derby with a Wilkinson and had my smoothest shave yet: no burn, no blood. Should I assume that Wilkinson is the best blade (so far) for me, or figure that I'm just getting better at this?

only way to know is to go back and try the feather again!

I did find when I was searching for a blade that some were just bad for me.

Re-trying blades you've already used may be biased, since your experience with the brand may color the re-use. There's only one way you can objectively test whether it's technique or blind, and that's by using my "True Test" method:
