Best way to store current DE blade safely

I don't really like the idea of leaving a blade in the razor and leaving it out. decided that I'll just store it in my chave bowl in a cupboard out of the way.

I'm no expert but I'm sure your risking your own safety more then others by taking the blade in and out. If your worried about kids and wives get a razor stand and put it in the cupboard.

education my friend. Teach wife and kids how sharp they are and not to touch or in your wifes case handle with care!

I strip the razor, rinse out everything,
dry the razor on a towel
and the blade I flick out excess water and put it back in the sleeve it came in and put everything away.

I always find soap scum on the blade when i take it out and do not like the idea of leaving it in the razor between shaves.
and my whole routine takes 10-15 seconds tops.

Since I have all 3 piece razors I usually break them down, rinse them, wipe them then put them back together with the blade in it.
For the first time ever I have my own shelf in the bathroom closet so I don't worry about the wife getting hurt ;)

3-piece as well. Take apart, rinse, wipe, thumbpad strop, reassemble. Keep mine in the hall closet on top of the cologne samples box.

Why not? If it's kids you just have educate them. My razors are all out in the open and the kids know to leave things alone and if they want to look at something to come get me and I'll show them. Even the girlfriends 9 year old son understands and I tease him about having the attention span of a goldfish.

If it's not kids why don't you like the idea of just leaving it in the razor.

Mine is a three-piece razor as well, I take it apart, rinse it, dry it and the blade goes back to the sleeve. Then all goes in the hanging closet. No kids to worry about, my wife sure knows how to deal with sharp things; only I have a cat, so must get the things out of her way.

i take mine out, dry it, put it back in the wrapper and then in its package. No trouble at all and i have been doing this since i started. Good luck.

The only time I don't leave it in the razor is when I'm using a carbon steel blade. Then I drop it on a piece of toilet paper to blot it off, then into a film canister filled with rubbing alcohol. Pop the lid on and up on the top shelf with the rest of the shave gear. No need to take a stainless blade out of the razor until it's spent. Then into the blade bank it goes!
