Best UNSCENTED Cream?

Hey, guys.

I'm looking for a great UNSCENTED cream. I am a strictly "uberlather" guy, and I have quite a few lovely-smelling soaps that I'd like to pair with an unscented cream on occasion.

I'd like to hear opinions on what you feel are the best of the unscented shaving creams on the market...and a link to the cheapest / best place to acquire them if you have one.

Thanks, gentlemen!

AoS unscented is probably the top dog, but it's quite expensive.

I agree with the prior poster that if your purpose is to use it in superlathers or uberlathers, it's hard to beat plain old KMF unscented. Inexpensive and works great.

The very best "fragrance free" cream is the AOS Unscented.
But, unfortunately, it is a top-shelf, expensive product.

don't know about Kroger.

around here it is at Harris Teeter (a grocery chain) but not with the shaving products.

It is widely available at vitamin/health food stores.

I've always wondered what that smelled like. Seriously. I just don't believe that you'd hold the tub to your nose and smell nothing.

For example, people say that water is tasteless all the time, but that's simply not true.

I second that. The Gentlemens Refinery also makes a very good unscented cream. However, like the AOS, it is quite spendy. Since you are only wanting a cream for a superlather, going with a less expensive option may be more sensible. I haven't tried KMF, so I'll defer to those who have experience with it.

The only unscented cream I've used is from Em's Place. It's really great and works well for superlather. Love the stuff.

Edge Ultra Sensitive gel - cheap, good performance. An inoffensive, very mild plastic-cherry-marzipan smell out of the can but absolutely zero scent after rinsing.

I highly recommend the Kiss My Face unscented to use with your uberlathers. That's the only time I use it, but it is great!

I've used all the unscenteds in AoS, Gentlemans' Refinery, and KMF, by themselves and in superlathers, and they are all great creams both ways. The KMF costs much less than the other two.

+1 on the KMF Frag-Free ... I have a tube of it, and it works well with anything you want to throw it into, or even as a stand-alone.

IMHO, though, the best thing to mix with any given soap is the matching cream from the same manufacturer. Like Tabac+Tabac. Of course, not every soap has a matching cream, and vice-versa. That's where a universal cream like KMF comes in handy.

Even when you mix and match brands and scents, you can get some interesting combos. I find that Mitchell's Wool Fat soap and Musgo Real cream make a great team. Each has a unique, mild scent. Put them together and the resulting aroma is very pleasant. You get a double-dose of Lanolin, and Tallow to boot!

Another good combo is L'Occ Cade soap and KMF Lavender+Shea cream. The shave I get from this is fantastic!
