Best Travel Cream

Here are the criteria:
Comes in a tube/tub smaller than the 3oz max TSA has set.
Works well brushless.

Additional points if it can stand up to heat/cold - my tube of proraso got a little funky after sitting in the sun on a cabin trip last year. I got another tub of cream that got funky after being shipped to Minneapolis in the dead of winter.

I have been thinking of picking up some Molle brushless cream and seeing how that works- it generally gets good press around here. It's in a huge container obviously, but does the TSA allow using a smaller bottle that you can buy especially for travel and packing cream in there? I know most drugstores sell smaller plastic bottles in the 'travel size' section. Someone said the packaging has to be original, while other have said it doesn't matter. When I travel I just usually take a soap for convenience, but I understand that doesn't really address your post. Just my solution to the TSA regulations.

I use EJ Seabuckthorn soap that comes in a plastic travel container, before this I used cream samples. I switched to a soap because they do not fall under the TSA 3 oz. place in a quart bag rule.

Art of Shaving makes 2.5 oz tubes or 1.7 oz pump cans. I think the tubes are 14 bucks and the cans are 15 bucks. I was at their store again today and I think those were the prices. AOS claims their stuff can be lathered very well with the fingers.

i make my own little samples jars and put in whatever creams I have on hand

+1, check camping stores for little containers ideally suited to this purpose.

When I travel, I tend to take a shave stick, but I can see why you'd want to leave the brush behind. The one exception to "brushless" creams for me is the now-defunct Tom's of Maine: it's a terrible, gloppy brushless cream, but an excellent cream when mixed with a brush.

Have you considered a shave stick? No muss, no fuss, no brush, but not a cream.

Never even thought about it - shaving sticks have always perplexed me. I use soap at home, but figured that it is a little easier to do cream on the road since I don't need to get it wet before I lather.

I am setting up a 1oz screwtop tub with cream (MintMan---mix of TOM Mint and Clubman), but I am certain that my Speick stick and Wee Scot are going to make a vastly superior travel setup.

Speick stick is easy as pie, no fuss, no leak, no TSA issues, superlative lather and great scent. The tiny Wee Scot scrubs it up like a champ too.

I've never had to leave it in carry-on so I"m not sure about volume, by Musgo Real is my travel cream of choice.

IF I can't use a brush, AND Proraso didn't work for me because of hot/cold...

I'd take a cheap, small can of Edge Extra sensitive, and tough it out for a couple days, I'd still use my Merkur razor.

Personally though, when I travel... small tube of Proraso, my brush, and Merkur razor.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. There is a store here in the twin cities (Garden of Eden) that carries PreDeProvence Cream.

It is small enough, but I am guessing that one requires a brush. Any one have experience with this cream? I can only find a review of the soap in the reviews section.

This brushless cream has served me well on short holidays in CONUS and extended ones to the EU. I also carry the matching ASB. They're the same sized tube, so reversed and placed end-to-end, they take little space in my kit. With my 33C in a small plastic soap container, along with my J.R. Liggett travel towel, spare blades, etc., I'm set.

I get mine from John at: http://www.shavingessentials.net/shaving_creams.html
