I had the best shave I have ever had this evening. I used my 1953 Gillette, a razor I haven't previously got on with, loaded with a Supermax Super Stainless. I pinched a bit of SWMBO's TOBS Rose Cream too.
I had a shower and gave myself a full body scrub with my new organic 'Ice Man' soap bar and a loofah. Then I washed my hair with a solid shampoo bar. Got myself really relaxed. After that I did my normal prep of a full face wash in hot water with antiseptic coal tar soap and leaving the lather on my face while I whipped up a good lather with the TOBS. After that I rinsed my face with hot water.
The shave was awesome, I was so relaxed I was just totally in the zone, the shave was a breeze, I didn't even have to think about it. The Gillette is a fantastic razor, I was previously very ambivalent towards the Gillette but now I love it. I doubt it will become my regular razor as I love my R89 more. I just did my standard 3 passes and got the perfect CCS, I wasn't looking for a BBS finish.
