best shave ever... :)

I recently did some changes in my setup and I must say that things have taken an upward turn lately.
I am very pleased with the Shark Super Chrome blades I just started using and also with my new Col Conk Bay Rum shave soap. My shave this morning was definitely a DFS, maybe even a BBS. My prep routine is very efficient (lather up in the shower and let soak in for a few minutes while showering followed by some baby oil on bearded area). The 60´s Slim Twist I use works absolutely terrific with the Shark blades. My post shave routine is to rinse face with warm water followed by some really cold water, apply some Thayers scent free witch hazel toner, wait for 15-20 minutes and then finish up with some Nivea replenishing ASB.
The result this morning was my best shave ever!!! Very close to zero irritation. Man, this feels really good. Thanks for all the good advice on this forum.

Today I went to the bathroom full of great expectations caused by the previous fantastic shave. Expectations that I could not live up to of course. I have noticed that every time I get one of those really magical shaves it is followed by a not so awesome shave. It was not a disaster but nowhere near the supershave of monday morning. So, it is back to the trenches and lather up again tomorrow.

So do I.

Today I had a reasonably fine shave. I am starting to learn wich areas of my face I can do ATG and where I have to be more careful and stick to WTG and XTG. The area below my nose for example is very sensitive and I am starting to realize that shaving ATG there just causes problems. On the other hand I can get a very good result XTG.
