Best razor for the wife?

The wife is about to pop (due date +4 and counting), and she hasn't seen her legs in awhile. Sometime in the next few weeks, she'll be whacking away at those things for the first time in months. I think she should try a DE. Would my Merkur HD work for her, or is there something particular about ladylegs that needs to be considered when selecting the weapon?

Ladies on the forum, advice please ...

The Lady Gillette is really a superspeed with a long, rather slender handle and a little color to add some eye appeal for the ladies. The reason for the long handle was to make it more comfortable to hold the razor while shaving the lower legs. This may well be the razor that your wife might like if she is intending to use a DE type razor.

Some other options beyond the Lady Gillette:

-Gillette Knack: a later variation on the Superspeed, with a long plastic handle.

-Lord Smart, this is a newer style Lord razor with the new "merkur like head", and is a superb shaver, just something to consider if you want a new razor.

Last, you can purchase her a Merkur 38C, which is the Merkur 34C/HD with a longer handle. It comes in the standard chrome finish, or very slick looking red, or blue handles as well.

It seems to be the general recommendation, that ladies would benefit from longer handles.

My wife and daughter both use a Lady Gillette Star and love them. My mother still to this day uses one of my dad's Super-Speeds.
