I wouldn't be too picky about the model. I wanted the 20" but they didn't have it. They may not have anything if you wait too long. That being said, I understand why you'd want to get exactly what you want.

Bought a 28" Mossberg today. No need to shoot at fowl. I can just swing it at 'em and hit 'em out of the sky

Nothing wrong with a 28" barrelled gun in the field or on the clay range. I have a 30" Beretta semi that I sometimes use for clays.
