Best preshaves out there?

Sorry, didn't know what subforum to put this in.

What are some of the best preshaves out there? I have heard of a Proraso pre/post cream, but from what I can gather, it only works well as a post-shave. Thanks!

I never use it as a post-shave, and use it as a pre about 99% of the time. Either way, it's quite cheap and lasts forever...

Yep, the Proraso goes both ways. That said, I'm not sure if it's the best preshave out there but it works pretty good for me!

Did you guys know proraso now do a pre/post which is for sensitive skin. Still same menthol, but without Eucalyptus scent, and includes Aloe and vitamin E. I find it better, and it doesnt kill the scent of my shave cream either.

In my experience, Prep pre/post shave works best. It's available at Edit

After many shaves, I find MY best pre-shave treatment is a liberal application of hot water, followed by a sweet, rich dollop of TOBS St. James! I've used a couple of different pre-shave oils, but the result didn't seem worth the effort.

Corn Huskers Lotion or Noxzema Cleansing Cream.

I often use CHL as a Pre and Noxz as a Post. These are both excellent drugstore products.

For me it has been Castle Forbes The Pre Shave. Water soluble you know.

I must agree. I have been using Castle Forbes for several weeks now and must say that it is the most effective preshave I have used. I also have the Proraso Pre/Post (Use it mostly with Proraso as it alters the scent of some creams/soaps), AOS and Zirh preshave oils

CS is the winner hands down and a little goes a long way. :001_smile:thumbup:

I also never use the Proraso as a post shave.

Olive oil! Cheapest pre-shave you can get, use like any other pre-shave oil. Sometimes I also use lectric shave, which seems to do an excellent job (I use it before my cream/soap), aside from the fact that I hate the smell.
