Best Pipe lighter for under $60

I currently have a Zippo pipe lighter. While I have no problem with it I was looking to purchase another quality lighter with a littler more refinement in aesthetics. If it could be helped I do not want to go over $60.

I don't really know if it's any better looking than the Zippo, but I just picked up an IMCO Pipe Lighter from my local tobacconist. It's not very expensive, refillable, and has a compartment that holds an extra flint in case you find yourself in need of a replacement.

Theres also a Xikar Old Boy, but I've never handled one (i know Xikar has a lot of fans, but when I saw the EX series I thought "this is really crude for a $50 lighter"

You can find Corona Pipe Magie lighters for $70 online. That's what I use. It's a great lighter for the money.

The Turboflames are great, especially if you smoke flakes and don't rub or use the francks method, but unfortunately the ignition mechanism tends to wear out after about 4 months. I've had my Zippo pipe-lighter for a while now and it works well, but find it lacks oomph for the charring light. Gas has the great advantage of directionality.

Absolutely concur with the quote above. When I started smoking a pipe, I tried to go cheap with an old boy imitation lighter. Then I got a pipe insert for my zippo. The zippo worked well enough (as long as you use the new formulation fuel from zippo, almost odor-less).

But I finally found a good deal on an old boy and it's like night and day. There is no question about the build quality and the performance. It's like comparing a boar brush against a HMV Plisson.

I will end up purchasing an IM Corona. Most likely the Eylsee or Pipe Magie. I have recently befriended a person who sells pipe/cigar accesories and I will be able to ge the lighter near cost!
