Texas has a LOT of good pie. Some of my other favorites include the Koffee Kup Kitchen in Hico, the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls, and the Monument Cafe in Georgetown.
Unique great places to eat are all over USAS, most sell out, and close. On I-25 Between Denver & Fort Colline is Johnson Corners Cafe, open 24 x 7 x 366, place don't close. Know for portion that could feed Big Foot, and Great Big Cinnamon Rolls.
They really are good. Anyone camping out overnight for a pie has their own issues, but they are mighty good.
The Flying Saucer beer bar/restaurant in town does a beer & pie pairing flight with Flying Saucer pies (no relation between the two other than the name). In fact, it just happened last week.
