Personally, I've been good with just about every cream I've have or tried, with possibly the best being the TBS Maca Root & Aloe. - But then I bought the older labelled tub for $5.00 on clearance, making it one big cheap tub of cream.
Another overlooked cream, that's really slick, is the Pacific Shaving All Natural, which is on-sale at CVS for 50% (might have been 75%, but pretty sure it was 50% off. Used it this morning, having used their AS Balm in the past. Easy lather, very slick, and yielded a top notch shave.
I also have no issued and like Proraso, especially green in warm weather, Palmolive (current is the Lemon), and the Old Spice cream from India, which is around $3.00 at the local Indian bazaar.
If your careful and watch for sales or bargains, you get many good quality creams cheap, and truth be told, there isn't a huge difference in performance among them, they all seem to work well, and still better than several of the soaps I've tried.
